A round outline in pale ink gives the swell of the rice, the plank of topping is layered above it in the same pale ink, and a single flowing streak leaves a hint of the salmon's red flesh. Finally, I switched to a thick brush with dark ink and finished by pulling the band of nori vertically in one stroke. I would be glad if, with only white and black, a freshly made piece of nigiri comes across.
